Railway becoming self-reliant with Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat Trains: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today said that with the development of advanced technology railway is becoming self-reliant in rolling out new trains like Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat trains. Addressing a function at Jamalpur in Munger, Mr. Vaishnaw said the country has electrified 50,000 kilometres of railway network in the past 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that every sector in India has witnessed the power of self-reliance, including recently conducted Operation Sindoor, where the Armed Forces devastated Pakistan air bases. Mr. Vaishnaw assured all possible help to the Jamalpur-based Indian Railway Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE). He launched an action plan of 350 crore rupees for the development of Jamalpur Locomotive Workshop and IRIMEE. He said portals of IRIMEE will be opened for common students by the 2026 academic session, and the Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti University will visit in this regard soon. Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also attended the meeting.
