Railways witnessing metamorphosis under PM Modi’s leadership: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the railway is committed to the development of the nation.

 

Addressing a gathering at Karpoori Gram railway station in Samastipur in Bihar, Mr. Vaishnaw said more than 33000 kilometres of new rail lines have been laid in the past 11 years.

 

He said railways are witnessing metamorphosis in the NDA regime with more state-of-the-art high-speed trains and technology.

 

The Rail Minister said in comparison to other states, Bihar has got more Vande Bharat trains and also Namo Bharat Express trains.

 

He said the Centre has allocated ten times more funds in the budget for the development of railways in Bihar, which stands at 10,000 crore rupees.

 

Earlier Mr. Vaishnaw inaugurated several passenger-related amenities including passenger waiting hall and redeveloped entrance of Karpoori Gram station.

 

He also laid the foundation stone for the upgradation of Karpoori Gram station and a new level crossing RUB with a project cost of over 17 crore rupees.

 

Union Minister of State for Agriculture Ram Nath Thakur, Darbhanga MP Gopal Jee Thakur, and Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary were also present.

 

He also paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur at the Gokhul Karpoori Phuleshwari Memorial Degree College at Karpoori Gram.
