Punjab’s famous Kila Raipur Rural Olympics has begun at the historic grounds in Kila Raipur village in Ludhiana today. This time, the iconic bullock cart races have also returned after a prolonged period, marking the revival of traditional rural sports.
The three-day sports festival includes hockey, kabaddi, athletics, and an array of classic traditional games in which both boys and girls participate, besides the bullock cart races.
The last and final day on February 19th would also see special 100m races in the 65, 75, and 80 plus age group categories for men, besides trolley loading and unloading, tricycle race and other such events that showcase the power and physical strength of the aged participants.
