Punjab is ready to procure 132 Lakh Metric Ton (LMT) Wheat against the target of 122 LMT during the procurement season starting from tomorrow. The Minimum Support Price for wheat has been fixed at 2585 rupees Per Quintal. The State has received the Cash Credit Limit to the tune of 30,973 Crore rupees for the month of April as well.

State’s Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Lal Chand Kataruchak, has said that nearly 1900 procurement centers have been notified and have been equipped with all the required material. During a review meeting with the District Food Supply Controllers yesterday, the Minister directed officials to ensure, especially in the border districts that Wheat from outside Punjab should not be sold in the state Mandis.
