In Puducherry, the flood situation in the Yanam region near the Gowthami branch of the Godavari river continues to remain grim. With heavy inflows from the catchment areas, 13,42,773 cusecs of water were released into the Bay of Bengal today. The Irrigation Department has issued the second flood warning at Dowleswaram barrage. Regional Administrator R. Munisamy, along with PWD officials, visited flood-prone areas, including Francetippa and Ayyanna Nagar to oversee precautionary measures. Efforts are also underway to clear the  water from low-lying localities.
