President Droupadi Murmu today said that youth of the nation are the architects of country’s future and the guardians of its great cultural and civilisational traditions. She expressed confidence that the youth will devote themselves to the development of nation. The President graced the closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Bharat Scouts and Guides and addressed its 19th National Jamboree at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
The President said, it is a matter of pride that Bharat Scouts and Guides has been guiding the youth and inspiring them to become active participants in nation-building. She highlighted that for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, youth of the country should make efforts.
After a gap of 61 years, the event was held in Lucknow. Around 33 thousand Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers from various Indian states, along with over one thousand 500 youth delegates from the Asia-Pacific region, including the Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Saudi Arabia participated in the event.
Earlier in the day, the President participated at the launch ceremony of Brahma Kumaris’ annual theme for 2025-26, Meditation for World Unity and Trust. President Droupadi Murmu said, the government is taking several important steps to make society more inclusive, peaceful, healthy, and value-based. She said, promoting yoga and meditation globally and spearheading the International Day of Yoga campaign are such initiatives.
She said, India’s ancient civilization has always given the world the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Mentioning the government’s efforts in inculcating values in the society, the President said, the National Education Policy also includes a value-based education initiative.
