President Murmu Urges Odisha Lawmakers to Work Towards Prosperity Ahead of State’s Centennial

President Droupadi Murmu addressed members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly on its first-day of winter session this evening at Bhubaneswar. She urged them to work with dedication to bring smiles on the faces of common people and build a prosperous Odisha by 2036 when the state completes 100 years of its formation. The President said Odisha is blessed with abundant resources and has the potential to become a leading state.
 
President said it was a nostalgic moment for her as she began her political career as a legislator in Odisha Assembly about 25 yer ago. She also visited the chamber where she used to work during her tenure as legislator. President Murmu credited the Legislative Assembly for shaping her journey to the highest constitutional office of the country. This is the first time a President of India addressed the Odisha Assembly.
