President Droupadi Murmu will visit the Nupee Lal Memorial complex in Imphal today to pay her respect to the brave women warriors of Manipur, acknowledging their historic contribution to the state. She will then proceed to Senapati, where she will address a public gathering and lay foundation stones and inaugurate projects aimed at boosting development in the district.
The President arrived in Imphal yesterday afternoon on a two-day visit to the state. She laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various projects worth one thousand 387 crore rupees in Imphal last evening. These projects include a wide range of areas including health sector, education, road and highways, tribal development, agriculture, electricity, and drinking water.
During her address, President Murmu said that the projects which were inaugurated will generate employment, improve infrastructure and accelerate economic activities. They reflect the Government’s commitment to inclusive development of Manipur and also empowerment of the people of the State.
Expressing sadness over the pain that the people of Manipur have gone through following the unfortunate violence, the President said that the Government stands with every affected family and assured that taking care of the concerns of the people of Manipur is the highest priority of the Government.
The Government remains fully committed to strengthening harmony, ensuring security and supporting Manipur in its journey toward stability and prosperity. She said, the Government is committed to promote equitable development across the State and will ensure that the fruits of development and progress reach each corner of the State.
