On the occasion of Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu has awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) to officers and personnel of the Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force. The award recognises their dedicated service, professionalism and exemplary contribution to railway security. Ministry of Railways said that the Inspector General, South Central Railway, Aroma Singh Thakur, has been selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
These awards are conferred twice a year, on Republic Day and Independence Day, to honour and inspire RPF and RPSF personnel to uphold the highest standards of service in safeguarding Indian Railways.
