President Droupadi Murmu Inaugurates Second Bharatiya Kalamahotsav at Secunderabad

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the second edition of Bharatiya Kalamahotsav at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad yesterday. The nine-day-long cultural festival is being organised by Rashtrapati Nilayam in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Textiles and the Ministry of Tourism. This festival aims to present the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.
 
 
Speaking on the occasion, the President recalled that the first edition of Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav introduced the people to the cultural legacy of Northeast India. She said this year’s edition offers a chance to witness the vibrant traditions of western India and expressed confidence that the festival will give visitors a deeper understanding of the region’s folk culture. The President said the Government has taken various steps to connect citizens, especially the youth, with the country’s cultural heritage. She said, events like Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav allow people from different parts of the country to understand one another, widen perspectives and encourage respect for India’s diverse traditions. She added that such platforms also inspire citizens to contribute to the preservation of heritage.
 
 
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekawat, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy and Ministers of several states attended the event. Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa and two Union Territories are participating in the Bharatiya Kalamahotsav. The Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav will be open to the public from today and will remain open till the 30th of this month. Entry is free of cost.
