Preparations underway at Kartavya Path for 77th Republic Day Parade

Preparations are in full swing for the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in the national capital on Monday. The parade will exhibit a unique blend of the country’s culture, its military prowess and its celebrated legacy. Different marching contingents of the Armed Forces and tableaux from different states will present glimpses of diverse strengths and cultural inclusiveness.

A full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day Parade was held on Kartavya Path amid rainfall yesterday. Briefing the media in New Delhi, Chief of Staff, Delhi Sub Area, Major General Navraj Dhillon said, on this Republic Day, the Indian Army will showcase a tableau on Operation Sindoor, showcasing the country’s victory and the jointness of the tri-services displayed during this operation. He said, Indian Army will feature debut of a Battle Array Formation showcasing synchronised manoeuvres alongside tanks, missile systems, drones and armoured platforms.

He informed that Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar will head the parade for the fourth time. He said that around 6 thousand 50 military personnel will take part in the parade. Major General Dhillon added that the Bhairav Battalion, Shaktibaan regiment, will take part in the parade for the first time, along with the Ladakh Scouts. Kites, Zanskar ponies and Bactrian camel also will also take part in the Republic Day parade for the first time.

Air Commodore Manish Sabharwal informed that the tableau on Operation Sindoor will feature the symbolic launch of a BrahMos by a Su-30, which destroyed one of the Pakistani airbases. It will showcase air defence elements, such as the S-400, which shot down a Pakistani air force asset at the longest range in the world. Air Commodore said that this is once again to highlight the resolve of the country that together if we fight, victory is inevitable.

Delhi Metro will commence its services at 3 AM on all lines on Monday to facilitate the movement of people to Kartavya Path and enable them to witness the Republic Day ceremony.
