In Uttarakhand, the portals of Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib, a prominent Sikh pilgrimage site located in the Chamoli district, will open for devotees on the 23rd of May. Hemkund Sahib Management Trust President Narendra Jeet Singh Bindra shared this information during a courtesy meeting with Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan in Dehradun today.
During the meeting, discussions were also held on the arrangements for the upcoming pilgrimage and facilities for devotees. The Chief Secretary reviewed the preparations and assured full support to ensure better facilities for pilgrims during the Yatra. He also directed the local administration to make necessary arrangements.
It was informed in the meeting that due to comparatively low snowfall this year, weather conditions are considered favourable for an early start of the pilgrimage. Keeping this in view, it has been decided to begin the Yatra slightly earlier this year.
