In Punjab, the police have arrested 7 persons with arms, ammunition and narcotics in two different operations today. Punjab Police’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), in a joint operation with Border Security Force (BSF), apprehended four persons with about 20-kilogram Heroin from a border village in Amritsar.
The key operative who was managing the supply chain has also been arrested. Police sources said that preliminary investigation reveals the accused key operative was linked to Pakistan-based handlers and was coordinating the delivery and distribution of drug consignments across the region.
In another operation, the Counter-Intelligence and Bathinda Police arrested three persons with 4 illegal pistols and 26 live cartridges. Police sources said that one of the accused had recently arrived from Canada to Bathinda specifically to execute a target killing. Further investigations are underway.
