Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated, laid foundation stones and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth around 13 thousand 430 crore rupees at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh today.
The projects span across key sectors including industry, power transmission, roads, railways, defence manufacturing and petroleum and natural gas. Addressing a gathering in Kurnool, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s rapid strides in clean energy and electricity access.
He noted that power has now reached every village and that per capita electricity consumption has increased to 1,400 units. He underlined that such achievements are setting new benchmarks across the energy sector. The Prime Minister emphasised that the development of Rayalaseema and the broader Andhra region is critical to the nation’s overall progress.
He pointed out the financial benefits flowing into the state due to GST reforms, with expected savings of over 8,000 crore rupess. He said, these savings, will enhance the festive season and encouraged people to celebrate the GST Bachat Festival with awareness and participation.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s technological push, Mr. Modi lauded the state’s efforts to establish Kurnool as India’s Drone Hub. He said the drone industry will open doors to several futuristic sectors, referencing its success during Operation Sindoor. The Prime Minister said, he can say with confidence that by 2047, when India marks 100 years of independence, it will truly be a Viksit Bharat.
Prime Minister Modi also outlined the vision for Visakhapatnam to emerge as an AI and Connectivity Hub, hosting the country’s first Artificial Intelligence Hub. With Google building a new international subsea gateway, this initiative is set to place Andhra Pradesh at the heart of India’s digital future.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan were also present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister reached Kurnool this morning on a day-long visit to Andhra Pradesh.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister offered prayers at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam. The temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and one of the 52 Shakti Peeths.
The Prime Minister was presented with the portraits and vestments of Sri Swami and Goddess Bhramaramba. The Prime Minister also visited Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra in Srisailam to commemorate the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
