Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project to the nation during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow. The 272-kilometre USBRL project has been constructed at a cost of around 44 thousand crore rupees. Talking to Akashvani News, Executive Director, Information and Publicity, Railway Board, Dilip Kumar said that the USBRL project is a fully electrified section and it includes 36 tunnels and 943 bridges. He informed that the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge and India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge – Anji Bridge, which are part of the USBRL, will also be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. He added that the project establishes all-weather, seamless rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country, aiming to transform regional mobility and drive socio-economic integration.
Our correspondent reports that during his visit, Prime Minister Modi will also flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains- one from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar and the other from Srinagar to Katra.
