PM Modi, Japanese PM Ishiba Attend 15th India-Japan Summit in Tokyo

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India and Japan have set a goal of investment of 10 trillion yen from Japan in India in the next 10 years. Special emphasis will be laid on connecting India’s and Japan’s small and medium enterprises and startups. He invited Japanese companies to make in India and make for the world. While addressing the joint press statement after attending the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit in Tokyo with counterpart Shigeru Ishiba, Mr. Modi said that today India and Japan have created a roadmap for the next decade, and at the heart of our vision is investment, innovation, economic security, technology, people, and state prefect partition.
 
 
He announced that the action plan will be created for human resource exchange in the next five years. Both sides will encourage the exchange of 500,000 people from different sectors between India and Japan. Under this 50,000 skilled Indians will contribute actively to Japan’s economy. He added that the partnership between India and Japan will not just be limited between Delhi and Tokyo. Further connections through institutionalize Corporation between Indian states and Japanese prefects will be in focus. This will open up new avenues for trade tourism, education and cultural exchanges.
 
 
The Prime Minister said that India and Japan are committed to a free open, peaceful, prosperous and rule-based Indo-Pacific. Both countries have the same concerns about terrorism and security with respect to defence and maritime security. Both countries have shared interests and decided to further strengthen the cooperation related to the defence industry and innovation. He added that joint credit mechanism for energy is a major achievement, it shows that green partnership between two countries is as strong as our economic partnership.
 
 
Prime Minister Modi said that Japanese technology and Indian talent are a winning combination. While we are working on high-speed rail, under the next-generation mobility partnership, we will also make rapid progress in sectors like ports, aviation and ship-building. For cooperation in the Chandrayaan 5 Mission, we welcome the agreement between ISRO and JAXA. Our active cooperation will cross the boundaries of the earth and become a symbol of humanity’s progress in space.
 
 
PM Modi said that the India-Japan partnership is rooted in mutual trust, reflects our national priorities, and is shaped by our shared values and beliefs. Together, we carry a common dream of peace, progress, and prosperity of our people and for the world.
 
 
Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba said that India is bringing transformation to the whole world. Japan can also boast of advanced technology, leading the world’s growth. Japan and India’s relations taking forward, both countries need to take advantage of each other’s strengths to gain solutions to our challenges and to help each other. He called for more high-skilled talent from India to boost Japan’s economy.
 
 
PM Ishiba added that Japan and India share the fundamental values and the Indo-Pacific region, both countries need to maintain free and open international order based rule of law. He said that increasing opaqueness in the international circumstances, Japan and India need to bring in their strengths together for peace and stability of the region.
 
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan PM Shigeru Ishiba exchanged a Joint Statement, Long-Term Vision Document on Bilateral Relations and a Joint Declaration on India-Japan Security Cooperation before the press statement. Between the two countries, Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of External Affairs, Republic of India and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan, Memorandum of Cooperation on the Japan-India Digital Partnership 2.0, Joint Declaration of Intent on Clean Hydrogen and Ammonia, Memorandum of Cooperation on Mineral Resources, Memorandum of Cooperation on the Joint Crediting Mechanism between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of Japan and Implementation Agreement on LUPEX were also exchanged.
