Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a day-long visit to Gujarat today. During his visit, the Prime Minister will participate in a programme at Dediapada in Narmada district on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, marking the 150th birth anniversary celebration of legendary tribal leader and freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Mr Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth over 9,700 crore rupees aimed at uplifting tribal communities and improving infrastructure in rural and remote areas of the region.
The project’s focus on infrastructure, health, education and heritage with particular emphasis on tribal empowerment. Mr Modi will participate in the Grih Pravesh of one lakh houses built under Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JAGUA). Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 748 km of new roads to enhance connectivity in tribal areas and 14 Tribal Multi-Marketing Centres (TMMCs) under DA-JAGUA to serve as community hubs. The Prime Minister will also offer prayers at Devmogra Temple in Narmada district.
Mr Modi will also visit the under-construction Bullet Train Station in Surat this morning to review the progress of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor which is one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects symbolizing the nation’s leap into the era of high-speed connectivity. Upon completion, the Bullet Train will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to nearly two hours, revolutionizing inter-city travel by making it faster, easier, and more comfortable. The project is expected to boost business, tourism, and economic activity along the entire corridor, catalyzing regional development.
