Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpoori Thakur on his birth anniversary today. In a social media post, the Prime Minister remembered the former Chief Minister of Bihar for his contribution to the upliftment of the exploited, deprived, and weaker sections of society. He added that the simplicity and dedication to public service of Mr Thakur’s will forever remain memorable and exemplary.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpoori Thakur on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Shah remembered Karpoori Thakur as a torchbearer of social justice and paid his respects to the legendary leader. He further said that by providing reservations for deprived and backward classes, women, and economically weaker sections, Karpoori Thakur set exemplary standards of social justice.
