Prime Minister today highlighted Goa’s rich naval heritage in his Mann Ki Baat address, drawing attention to a unique museum that showcases the evolution of India’s naval aviation.
Goa’s identity is not limited to sun, sand and beaches. It is also home to a remarkable defence establishment that invites every visitor to experience the legacy of India’s naval aviation. In his Mann Ki Baat address today, the Prime Minister spoke about the Naval Aviation Museum located in Vasco.
In his conversation, Mr. Rana said the Naval Aviation Museum at Dabolim is the only one of its kind in Asia. Opened in 1998, it now showcases 16 aircraft, over 10 aero engines and a wide range of artefacts, including displays on the 1971 Indo-Pak War, aircraft carriers and naval air stations. He added that a recent revamp has made the museum more engaging, with restored aircraft, new galleries, a memorial room, a mini-theatre and a panoramic viewing gallery. The museum which attracts thousands of students and tourists every year will keep motivating young minds to join the Armed Forces.
