President Murmu, PM Modi, LS Speajer Om Birla condole demise of former Union Minister Shivraj Patil

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla have condoled the demise of former Union Minister Shivraj Patil.
 
 
In a social media post, the President said that during his long public life, Mr Patil held several important positions, including those of Lok Sabha Speaker, Union Minister, Governor, and a longstanding Member of Parliament.
 
 
Meanwhile, in a social media post, the Prime Minister also said that Mr Patil was an experienced leader, having served as MLA, MP, Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly, as well as the Lok Sabha during his long years in public life. He added that the late former Union Minister was passionate about contributing to the welfare of society.
 
 
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that the passing of Mr Patil is a significant loss to the nation’s public and parliamentary life. 
 
 
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tribute to Patil, recalling him as a dignified and cultured leader who upheld Maharashtra’s political values and carried them to national and international platforms. 
 
 
Former Chief Minister and MP Ashok Chavan, in his condolence message, said the state had lost a guiding father figure. He described Patil as a scholarly and strong leader whose presence had been a prominent face of Maharashtra in national politics. 
 
 
The last rites of Shivraj Patil Chakurkar will be performed tomorrow at 11 a.m. near Latur.
