Pakistan: 10 people died as severe heatwave continues to grip Sindh province

In Pakistan, ten people have died as a severe heatwave continues to grip Sindh province. Authorities said five bodies were recovered in different parts of Karachi, while another five people showing signs of heatstroke died while undergoing treatment in hospitals. The Pakistan Meteorological Department said Karachi yesterday recorded its hottest day since 2018, with temperatures rising above 44°C. The extreme weather is part of a growing pattern of more frequent and intense heatwaves across South Asia, widely linked to climate change. The Meteorological Department had earlier issued a heatwave warning for Karachi and several districts of Sindh.
