Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi has said that over two crore ineligible and bogus ration cards have been removed by the State governments. Replying to supplementaries during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha today, Mr Joshi informed that deletion or addition of ration cards is the State’s responsibility. He said, more than 99 per cent of ration cards have been seeded with Aadhaar for the rightful targeting of Public Distribution System beneficiaries in the country. Mr Joshi said that 100 per cent fair price shops have been digitized.
