In Cricket, New Zealand announced their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming India tour. Mitchell Santner will lead the T20I side, while Michael Bracewell has been appointed captain for the ODI series. Kyle Jamieson features in both formats following his recovery, while Mark Chapman and Matt Henry are set to return in the T20 format. Prominent players, Kane Williamson, Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra have been rested or ruled out due to injury.
Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Jayden Lennox has earned his maiden international call-up, while Kristian Clarke is another uncapped inclusion in the ODI squad.
The BLACK CAPS are set to play 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is in India next month. The tour will begin with ODI series from 11th of January in Vadodara, followed by second ODI in Rajkot on 14th of January and 3rd ODI in Indore on 18th of January. The 5-match T20I series will then begin from 21st of January in Nagpur. The T20 series will be crucial for both sides ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka, scheduled to begin on the 7th of February.
