New Labour Codes to benefit workers across india: Union Minister Mandaviya

Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today highlighted that the recently implemented four labour codes are going to bring positive change in the lives of labourers and workers.

Addressing the Labour and Employment Summit 2025 in New Delhi, Mr Mandaviya said that previous labour laws were not in the interest of labour’s welfare, stating it as one-sided.

He noted that under the provisions of the new codes, contractual workers are not excluded from the coverage of the Employee Provident Fund, ensuring social security for them.

During his address, the Minister asserted that women are permitted to work at night and in all types of work across all establishments, ensuring equal opportunities and wages to earn a higher income.

Mr Mandaviya also mentioned that hazardous industry workers will receive free annual health check-ups. He also said that in hazardous processes, safety, health and welfare provisions will be applied even in the case of one worker.

The Minister highlighted that social security coverage has increased to 64 per cent in the nation.
