The 53rd edition of the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026 will be held from 10th to 18 January at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The fair will bring together publishers, authors, readers, and cultural voices from India and across the world. The nine-day book fair will attract participation from over one thousand publishers representing more than 35 countries.
Talking to Akashvani News, the Director of the National Book Trust, Yuvraj Malik, said that for the first time, entry to the book fair is free. He informed that this year, Qatar is the Guest of Honour country and Spain is the Focus Country. Mr Malik said that there will also be a dedicated children’s pavilion at the book fair. Mr Malik informed that this year, the book fair will pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces and their contribution to the nation since Independence through the Theme – Indian Military History: Valour and Wisdom @ 75.
He said, the Theme will be presented through a specially curated Theme Pavilion spread across one thousand square metres, designed to combine books, exhibitions, visual installations and live programmes. It will highlight the Army, Navy and Air Force as not only defenders of India’s borders but also as pillars of national unity through an exhibition of over 500 books on Indian military history, defence and strategy.
