Navy Chief Calls for Region-Specific Initiatives, Stronger Maritime Capacity in Indo-Pacific

Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has emphasised the need for region-specific initiatives and enhanced maritime capacity in the Indo-Pacific region. Addressing the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue in New Delhi today, he highlighted that capacity building in the maritime domain must be tangible, expressed in terms of hulls, airframes, ports, logistics chains, and industrial ecosystems that will strengthen a nation’s ability to remain present and persistent at sea.

Representatives from 30 countries are participating in the country’s premier international conference on maritime strategy, diplomacy, and cooperation.

The Navy Chief said that the Indian Navy has developed the NISHAR MITRA terminals to facilitate intelligence and information exchange, enabling seamless communication and cooperation among partners in the region. He also mentioned that India aims to host about fifty International Liaison Officers by the year 2028.
