Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth today said that National Cadet Corps (NCC) teaches discipline, courage, and duty.
He said that out of 17 lakh cadets, only two thousand 400 cadets get the opportunity to participate in the Republic Day Parade.
The Minister said this while visiting the National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp at Cariappa parade camp in New Delhi. Mr Seth said it is the country’s privilege that the Prime Minister, Vice President, and Defence Minister were all NCC cadets.
He also lauded the role of NCC and the army during the Punjab flood, defined as a crucial role to prevent affected people on ground level last year.
During the visit, Mr Seth interacted with cadets and received a Guard of Honour from the NCC Director General.
