Businesswoman and Philanthropist, Nita Ambani said India is a humanist nation that gave the world wisdom through its philosophy, knowledge and teachers. The actor said that India only has 9 thousand 200 screens while the United States, with a far lower population, has 40 thousand screens and China with 90 thousand screens. He also said that the business model of movies in India currently is very faulty and there needs to be a longer waiting period between theatrical release and OTT release.

TIRUCHIRAPPALLI INTRO;
The Temple city Madurai in Tamil Nadu is celebrating Chithirai Festival which is one of the grandest and most spiritually vibrant temple festivals celebrated in the state every year.
"Dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar (Shiva), this two-week-long celebration is an exquisite blend of Tamil culture, devotion, mythological storytelling, and community participation. In 2025, the Chithirai Festival flag was hoisted at April 29. The celebrations encompass two major events: Meenakshi Kalyanam (Divine Marriage) and Kallazhagar’s Journey which will be celebrated on May 8th and May 12th respectively. The Festival has its origins in two different legends that were once celebrated separately but were later merged by King Tirumalai Nayakkar in the 17th century to promote unity. According to legend, Meenakshi, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, was born to King Malayadhwaja Pandya and Queen Kanchanamalai of Madurai. As a fierce warrior queen, she conquered many lands. However, her destiny took a divine turn when she met Lord Shiva, who descended to earth as Sundareswarar. Their celestial wedding, celebrated as Meenakshi Thirukalyanam, symbolizes the union of Shakti and Shiva. In another legend, Lord Vishnu, in the form of Alagar that is Kallazhagar sets out from his temple in Alagarkoil near Madurai to attend his sister Meenakshi’s wedding. But due to delays, he is unable to attend the marriage who in turn angrily gets in to river Vaigai. and later calms down and blesses the divine couple. This event is emotionally significant and forms the second major part of the festival. On May 10, the much-anticipated Kallazhagar's departure from the Alagar temple from alagar malai will take place marking his symbolic journey to Madurai and he will be received at Madurai on May 11 and will descend into the river on May 12, marking the most significant event of Madurai city that will attract more than 15 lakh people from the city and suburbs. After rituals the procession deity will be adorned in traditional green silk, which represents prosperity in agriculture among the masses. After Pooja, the procession will proceed along the Vaigai banks road to Ramarayar Mandapam for the Theerthavari ritual in which thousands of devotees disguised as deities Kallazhagar and Pathinettam Padi Karuppu who would spray scented water at the procession deity using leather bags 'Thopparai'. The procession will then circle around the platform, allowing lakhs of devotees to have darshan of the deity while chanting 'Govinda Govinda' and offering prayers with deepams to Kallazhagar. People take this occasion to tonsure an offering to Lord Kallazhagar. The Festival highlights the Shaivite and Vaishnavite unity, celebrating both traditions together. It showcases Tamil Nadu’s rich folk arts, music, and dance. It draws thousands of performers and artists from across the state. Rooted in ancient Tamil literature and legends, the festival has been celebrated for centuries, reflecting the religious tolerance and unity of Tamil society. It also reinforces the role of Madurai as a cultural capital of Tamil Nadu. The festival fosters communal harmony as people of different faiths and communities participate in this chitirai festival. लद्दाख में जमीयत उल उलमा इस्ना अशरिया कारगिल के बैनर तले, अल-हिमालय ग्रीन मिशन एंड रिसर्च सेंटर द्वारा शुरू किया गया एक लाख मेगा प्लांटेशन अभियान पूरे जिले में अपनी हरियाली फैला रहा है और आज अपने छठे चरण में प्रवेश कर गया है।
"In the 6th Phase the plantation campaign reached Shakar Chiktan region, beginning from Bodh Kharbu, where hundreds of volunteers, Teachers, students, and residents took part with remarkable enthusiasm. What began as a localized environmental mission has now grown into a full-fledged people’s movement, drawing support and appreciation from across Kargil. Residents, regardless of religion, sect, or region, have been voluntarily participating in the drive, making it a symbol of unity, sustainability, and shared responsibility. Miss World Limited Chairperson and CEO Julia Evelyn Morley reached Hyderabad today to begin preparations for the upcoming Miss World 2025 pageant. Telangana State officials extended her warm welcome with traditional honours at Shamshabad Airport. Correspondent:
"Preparations are underway in full swing for the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from 10th of this month till the month end. Over 120 contestants from around the world are expected to participate. Julia Morley is in Hyderabad to personally review all the arrangements for the event, including venues, hospitality, and cultural tours. Speaking to the media upon her arrival, Morley said she was excited to partner with the Telangana government. She said the pageant will help showcase Telangana’s culture to a global audience. She also stressed that Miss World is not just about beauty, but about empowering women and creating meaningful impact worldwide. With support from the state tourism department, the event will include cultural programs and competitions at various locations. Contestants will tour major landmarks including Charminar, Chowmohalla Palace, Ramappa Temple, and Yadadri Temple. In the Indian stock market, Sensex ended with modest gains while Nifty settled nearly unchanged in a volatile trading session today. The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, advanced 260 points, or 0.32 percent to close at 80,502. The National Stock Exchange Nifty-50 increased marginally by 13 points to settle at 24,347. In the global crude market, Brent Crude was trading over 0.4 percent down at 61 dollars and 86 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude was trading almost half percent down at 58 dollars and 95 cents per barrel, when reports last came in. In the Indian bullion market, 24-karat gold was trading up at 93,490 rupees per 10 grams, and silver 999 fine was also trading up at 95,190 rupees per kilogram, when reports last came in.
