In Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav jointly inaugurated the new broadcast service and Malwi dialect bulletin. DG Akashwani Rajeev Kumar Jain also present on the occasion.
In the holy city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, radio broadcasts from the newly established Akashvani centre began yesterday. For the first time, listeners will be able to hear news in the Malwi dialect – a significant step towards preserving the region’s language and culture. Here is a report.
Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan said that the Akashvani Ujjain centre will play a vital role in promoting the Malwi dialect and the region’s rich cultural heritage. The Chief Minister said that ever since Independence, the people of Ujjain had wished to hear Akashvani programmes originating from their own city. He added that this long-standing dream of listeners has now been fulfilled.
Malwi news from the Ujjain centre will be broadcast every day at 7:20 PM. Listeners can tune in on FM 102.5 MHz.
