Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary today felicitated Super 100 awardees of the Veer Gatha 5.0. These winners have been selected from 91 schools across 18 countries at the national level under three categories. Each winner received a cash prize of ten thousand rupees and an opportunity to witness the Republic Day Parade 2026 at Kartavya Path as special guests. This year, nearly 1 crore 92 lakh students from around 1 lakh 92 thousand schools participated in the project, marking the highest-ever participation since the inception in 2021. On this occasion, Mr Seth called upon the students to become the torchbearers of India’s story, urging them to contribute to the vision of making India a global leader by 2047. Mr Seth noted the significance of the event coinciding with National Girl Child Day, pointing out that nearly two-thirds of the winners were girls, reflecting the success of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative. The Minister also paid tribute to India’s legacy of valor, referencing historical heroes and the profound sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh’s young sons, commemorating Veer Bal Diwas.
In his address Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary said that the event is a celebration of a miniature India, with winners hailing from across the country. He urged the youth to become agents of change for a developed India, emphasizing that true valor extends beyond the battlefield to the realms of knowledge and social service. Mr Chaudhary advised the students to build their character on three core principles which are acting with reason over instinct, exercising sound judgment instead of grievance and practicing restraint over pure appetite.
Talking to Akashvani, Irza Sajjad from Jammu and Kashmir said that she felt enriched to be a part of this Veer Gatha event. She also encouraged other students to take part in this kind of completion.
Talking to Akashvani, Shourya Thakur from United Arab Emirates shared his experience on achieving the award. He also said that for this completion he wrote a poem on Captain Vikram Batra.
On this occasion, both the Ministers also felicitated a token of appreciation to the Air Force Pilot, Group Captain Manish Arora on his courageous performance during Operation Sindoor. He is also a recipient of Shaurya Chakra (2011) and Vir Chakra (2025).
