Mizoram and Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Dept of Drinking Water and Sanitation sign MoU

Mizoram and the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi yesterday for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0. Our correspondent reports that Union Minister for Jal Shakti, C. R. Paatil, joined the programme virtually from his office, while Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, alongside state Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Lalnilawma and other officials, also participated via video conference from Aizawl. 
 
The agreement was signed by PHE secretary Zodingpuii, representing the Mizoram government and Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation Joint Secretary Swati Meena Naik, the sources said. In his virtual address, the Chief Minister highlighted that Mizoram is among the first Indian states to achieve 100 per cent implementation under the initial Jal Jeevan Mission, providing functional tap water connections to 133,060 households.
