Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel has announced the launch of the Strategy for AI in Healthcare for India (SAHI), a national guidance framework aimed at supporting responsible AI adoption across States, regulators and private programs. Addressing the gathering at the roundtable on Innovation to Impact – AI as a Public Health Gamechanger in New Delhi, Ms Patel said that the SAHI initiative will be launched during the AI Impact Summit 2026 on Thursday. 

 

The Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to responsible and inclusive AI adoption in healthcare. Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, she emphasised that for India, AI is not just Artificial Intelligence, it is All Inclusive, driving equitable and trusted healthcare for a Viksit Bharat. Ms Patel said, today India has integrated AI in the entire health sector, from disease surveillance and prevention to diagnosis and treatment.
