Minister Dr Jitendra Singh Highlights India’s Health Innovation

Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said that the shift towards preventive healthcare has improved India’s global recognition in bio-manufacturing and medical devices. He said this while addressing the Seventh Confederation of Indian Industry Pharma and Life Science Summit 2025 in New Delhi. Dr Singh added that exporting preventive healthcare has brought a complete 360 transformation, positioning India as a serious healthcare provider.

He highlighted that India was once primarily a retailer, but now the nation is creating innovations of its own. The Minister noted that India’s pharma market has grown sharply in value and the government has launched a large research and development fund to support deep-tech projects. This includes health and agriculture, direct financing of private companies, and a new kind of public-private experience.
