Secretary for the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, S. Krishnan, has hailed the Union Budget 2026-27, describing it as a tech-budget. Addressing the media in New Delhi today, Mr Krishnan said that the budget contains several key announcements for the technology sector that will further accelerate the strong momentum it has already gained. He noted that the announcement of India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 is both timely and significant.

He said the initiative will help sustain the progress achieved under India Semiconductor Mission 1.0 for another five to six years. Mr Krishnan also highlighted that the budget includes a series of measures aimed at making it easier for investments to flow into the country, which will further support and encourage large-scale technology investments.
