Internet service has been suspended for five days commencing from last midnight in Ukhrul district of Manipur. The State Home Department decided to ban the mobile and internet data services in the district after the law and order situation deteriorated in some parts of the district in the aftermath of communal riot that erupted last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho said that the law and order situation has been improving in the affected areas. The State Government has been continuing meetings with community leaders and other stakeholders to bring normalcy in Litan and its adjoining areas, he said.
