Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserts Make-in-India played key role in India’s effective action against terrorism during Operation Sindoor

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that Make-in-India is an essential component in national security and has played a key role in India’s effective action against terrorism during Operation Sindoor. Addressing the CII Annual Business Summit in New Delhi, Mr Singh said that India has redesigned and redefined both its strategy and response against terrorism.

He made it clear that now whenever there are talks with Pakistan, it will be only on terrorism and PoK. The Defence Minister said that Pakistan has realised that running the business of terrorism is not cost-effective, as it may have to pay a heavy price for it.

Mr. Singh credited indigenous defence systems for India’s decisive action against terrorism emanating from Pakistan. He highlighted the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) Execution Model and called it a bold step, enabling private and public sector collaboration to build 5th-gen fighter jets.

Mr. Singh added that today India is not just making fighter aircraft or missile systems, but is also getting ready for New Age Warfare Technology. He mentioned that  Make in India is the defining moment for the country  and India can become a development hub for engineering, high precision manufacturing and future technologies just like Japan.

He added that an atmosphere of uncertainty is visible in the entire wor,ld and the fundamental reason for it is a lack of trust. He said, on the contrary, India has endeavoured to create a strong environment of trust between different regions, communities, and economic segments within the country. The Minister mentioned that India has achieved unprecedented success through these efforts. He further asserted that India’s annual defence production crossed the all-time high figure of 1 lakh 46 thousand crore rupees.
