In Andhra Pradesh, a major accident occurred in Alluri Seetha Ramaraju district early this morning as a private bus lost control and fell into a valley on the Chintur-Maredumilli ghat road.

According to initial reports, eight people died in the accident. 35 passengers and two drivers were in the bus at the time of the mishap. Several others were seriously injured, and the death toll is likely to increase.

The bus was going from Bhadrachalam to Annavaram. Chintur police reached the spot and took up rescue operations with the help of locals. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital. The cause of the accident is said to be over-speeding.
