In the Khelo India Youth Games, Maharashtra is in the top position in the medal tally with 44 medals, including 16 gold medals. The state has added 14 silver and 14 bronze to its kitty.
With 16 medals, including nine gold, Rajasthan is in the second position, followed by Karnataka, which accumulated eight gold and a total of 23 medals.
Today is the 5th day of the Khelo India Youth Games.
Medals will be decided in several events including Sepak Takraw, Judo, Table Tennis, Swimming and Shooting.
The main attraction of the mega youth sporting event was archery in Bhagalpur, where Maharashtra players bagged six gold, two silver and one bronze, showing their skills and consistency in the game.
With amazing performances in 50-meter compound girls’ archery, all three medals went to Maharashtra, where Prithika snatched gold and Tejal Salve Silver. The bronze also went to Vaidehi Jadhav from Maharashtra.
In Martial Arts Gatka games, Punjab won seven medals, including 2 gold medals out of 21 medals decided yesterday.
Through events of Gatka, Bihar has bettered its position in medal tally by winning nine bronze and one silver in this category.
Curtains were down for the Archery and Gatka events yesterday.
