National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has called for shunning double standards in combating the menace of terrorism. He said, perpetrators of terrorism should be effectively and expeditiously dealt with including those involved in cross-border terrorist activities. Mr Doval was addressing a security conclave of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Astana, Kazakhstan yesterday. He underlined the need for holding accountable the sponsors, financiers and facilitators of terrorist activities. Mr Doval also raised the issue of the continued threat posed by various terror groups in the SCO region, including those designated by the UN Security Council such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Al Qaeda and its affiliates and ISIS. The National Security Advisor strongly condemned the barbaric terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow on March 22 and expressed condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones.

The Government has declared false and misleading media reports claiming significant hike in prices of medicines. The Union Health Ministry said, these reports claim that more than 500 medicines will be affected by the increase in price. The Ministry said that such reports are totally false, misleading and malicious. It added, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) under the Department of Pharmaceuticals annually revises the ceiling prices of scheduled medicines on the basis of Wholesale Price Index. The Ministry said, there will be no change in prevailing ceiling prices for 782 medicines while 54 medicines will have a minuscule increase of one paisa.

लोकसभा चुनाव के दूसरे चरण के लिए नामांकन दाखिल करने का आज अंतिम दिन है। इस चरण में बाहरी मणिपुर लोकसभा क्षेत्र के साथ 12 राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की 88 लोकसभा सीटों पर चुनाव होंगे। बाहरी मणिपुर निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के एक हिस्से में पहले चरण में मतदान होगा। केरल की बीस, कर्नाटक की 14, राजस्थान की 13, उत्तर प्रदेश और महाराष्ट्र की आठ-आठ, मध्य प्रदेश की सात, असम और बिहार की पांच-पांच, पश्चिम बंगाल और छत्तीसगढ़ की तीन-तीन सीटों पर इस चरण में वोट डाले जाएंगे। इसके अलावा त्रिपुरा और जम्मू-कश्मीर में भी इस चरण में मतदान होगा। दूसरे चरण का मतदान 26 अप्रैल को होगा। जम्मू-कश्मीर को छोड़कर सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में नामांकन की जांच कल होगी। जम्मू-कश्मीर में छह अप्रैल को पर्चों की जांच होगी।

The Mumbai police arrested nine Somali pirates yesterday who were forced to surrender by the Indian Navy recently for allegedly hijacking an Iranian fishing vessel FV Al-Kambar. The foreign nationals were brought to Mumbai yesterday and were handed over to the police.
Last Friday, after Navy officials received information about a potential piracy incident, INS Sumedha and INS Trishul were deployed in the Arabian Sea. After intense coercive tactical measures, the pirates on board hijacked FV were forced to surrender.

Non-stick cookware,food packaging , aqueous film forming foam, water proof materials like rain coats and cosmetics expel these chemicals via sewage and solid waste , polluting ground and surface water and finally finding their way into treated drinking water.

The State government appointed senior IAS officers as special officers to monitor the water crisis situation in the State and to mitigate the crisis to ensure adequate supply of drinking water in all urban and rural households on a daily basis. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari issued orders to this effect. The special officers were instructed to visit the assigned districts immediately and focus on addressing the drinking water needs in the districts, in coordination with the district collectors and State-level departments. They were also instructed not to seek leave during this period.

दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम- डीएमआरसी ने कल दिल्ली मेट्रो की पीली लाइन में छतरपुर और सुल्तानपुर के बीच लगाए गए गति प्रतिबंध को 25 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे तक संशोधित कर दिया है। डीएमआरसी ने अपने पहले के लिए हुए निर्णय में बदलाव किया जिसके तहत उन्होंने छतरपुर और सुल्तानपुर के बीच 20 किमी प्रति घंटे की अस्थायी गति प्रतिबंध लगाया था। उन्होंने यह निर्णय चौथे चरण के एयरोसिटी-तुगलकाबाद कॉरिडोर के सुरंग के निर्माण कार्य के कारण लिया है। दिल्ली मेट्रो ने बताया की यह संशोधन यात्रियों की सुविधा को ध्यान में रखते हुए किया है। इसके अंतर्गत मेट्रो प्रणाली के अंदर आवश्यक घोषणाएं की जा रही हैं। उन्होंने बताया की इसके अतिरिक्त ट्रेनों की आवाजाही को तदनुसार नियंत्रित किया जा रहा है।

गंगाधर मेहरे (अंग्रेज़ी: Gangadhara Meher, जन्म- 9 अगस्त, 1862; मृत्यु- 4 अप्रैल, 1924) उड़िया भाषा के प्रसिद्ध कवि थे। गंगाधर मेहरे का जन्म एक निर्धन जुलाहा परिवार में हुआ था। इन्होंने कपड़े बनाते बनाते कविता करना सीखा। इनके अनेक काव्य ग्रंथों में ‘प्रणय वल्लरी’ और ‘तपस्विनी’ सर्वाधिक प्रसिद्ध हैं। इन्हें उड़िया भाषा का कालिदास कहा जाता है। गंगाधर मेहरे का 4 अप्रैल, 1924 ई. को देहांत हो गया।

हंसा मेहता (अंग्रेज़ी: Hansa Mehta, जन्म: 3 जुलाई, 1897; मृत्य: 4 अप्रॅल, 1995) एक समाजसेवी, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और शिक्षाविद के रूप में भारत में काफ़ी प्रसिद्ध रही हैं। इनके पिता मनुभाई मेहता बड़ौदा और बीकानेर रियासतों के दीवान थे। हंसा मेहता का विवाह देश के प्रमुख चिकित्सकों में से एक तथा गाँधीजी के निकट सहयोगी जीवराज मेहता जी के साथ हुआ था। भारत के संविधान को मूल रूप देने वाली समिति में 15 महिलाएं भी शामिल थीं। इन्होंने संविधान के साथ भारतीय समाज के निर्माण में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। हंसा मेहता इन्हीं में से एक थीं। महिलाओं की समस्याओं के समाधान के लिए प्रयत्नशील हंसा मेहता ने जेनेवा के ‘अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला सम्मेलन’ में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

Sukhen Das (28 July 1938 – 4 April 2004) was an Indian actor,director, screenwriter and story writer of Bengali cinema.
Das was born as Sukhendranath Das in Kolkata. He spent parts of his childhood in an orphanage i.e The Ramkrishna Society-Anath Bhandar. He did not finish his education because of financial problems.[3] Later he fled the orphanage and took shelter in a doctor’s chamber. During this time he roamed around near film studios, and he was spotted by director Debnarayan Gupta who gave him a role as a child actor (Master Sukhen) in the movie Dasiputra (1949)
Das acted in many commercially successful movies[5][10] including Pratishodh (1981)[11] and Maa Ek Mandir (1988).[11] His roles in the movies Lalu Bhulu (1959), Dhonyi Meye (1971), Rajnandini (1980) and Dadamoni (1984) earned him critical acclaim. He also directed a large number of movies, including Milan Tithi, Sayani,[12] Maan Abhiman (1978)[13] and Singhaduar (1978), and wrote scripts for a number of others.[4] His play 15th July was translated into Hindi. He acted in a large number of jatras as well.

पल्लवी जोशी (अंग्रेज़ी: Pallavi Joshi, जन्म- 4 अप्रॅल, 1969, मुम्बई, महाराष्ट्र) भारतीय फ़िल्म तथा टेलीविजन अभिनेत्रीहैं। उन्हें राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म पुरस्कार में ‘स्पेशल जूरी अवार्ड’ से भी सम्मानित किया गया है। पल्लवी जोशी ने कम उम्र में ही स्टेज पर परफॉर्म करना शुरू कर दिया था। उन्होंने बाल कलाकार के रूप में ‘बदला’ और ‘आदमी सड़क का’ जैसी फ़िल्मों में अभिनय किया। उसके बाद बॉलीवुड में कई फिल्में की और बॉलीवुड में नाम कमाया। पल्लवी जोशी को फ़िल्म ‘द ताशकन्द फाइल्स’ के लिए बेस्ट सर्पोटिंग एक्ट्रेस का 67वां राष्ट्रिय फ़िल्म पुरस्कार मिला है।

पद्मश्री ख़लील धनतेजवि (अंग्रेज़ी: Khalil Dhantejvi, जन्म- 12 दिसम्बर, 1938; मृत्यु- 4 अप्रॅल, 2021) गुजरात के प्रसिद्ध कवि ग़ज़लकार थे। उनका नाम उनके अभिभावकों ने ‘ख़लील इस्माइल’ रखा था, लेकिन वडोदरा के धनतेज गांव से होने की वजह से उन्होंने अपने नाम में ‘धनतेजवी’ उपनाम जोड़ लिया था। कविता और ग़ज़ल लिखने के लिए विख्यात धनतेजवी को लोग मुशायरों में खूब पसंद करते थे। उन्होंने अपने कॅरियर की शुरुआत एक पत्रकार के रूप में की थी। ख़लील धनतेजवी शुरुआत में अपने दिमाग में ही गज़लें रखते हुए अपने दोस्तों को ग़ज़ल के पाठ पढ़ाते थे। याद रखने की उनकी यह शक्ति बुढ़ापे में भी मुशायरों में बनी रही। ख़लील धनतेजवी साहित्य के साथ-साथ पत्रकारिता, प्रिंटिंग प्रेस और फिल्म उद्योग से भी जुड़े थे। उन्हें वर्ष 2004 में कलापी और 2013 में वली गुजराती गजल पुरस्कार मिला था। वर्ष 2019 में नरसिंह मेहता पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। ख़लील धनतेजवी के पहले गजल संग्रह में 100 से अधिक ग़ज़ल थीं। उनकी ग़ज़ल को जगजीत सिंह ने भी गया।

शशिकला (अंग्रेज़ी: Shashikala, जन्म- 3 अगस्त, 1933, शोलापुर, महाराष्ट्र; मृत्यु- 4 अप्रॅल, 2021, मुम्बई) का नाम भारतीय हिन्दी सिनेमा की प्रसिद्ध खलनायिकाओं में से एक के रूप में लिया जाता है। हिंदी सिनेमा की ग्लैमरस खलनायिकाओं का ज़िक़्र होते ही ज़हन में उभरने वाला पहला नाम शशिकला का था। सन 1960 के दशक के हिंदी सिनेमा में अपनी एक ख़ास जगह बनाने वाली ख़ूबसूरत, चुलबुली और खलनायिका शशिकला को उस दौर के दर्शक आज भी भूले नहीं हैं। शशिकला न सिर्फ़ एक उम्दा अभिनेत्री थीं, बल्कि मौक़ा मिलने पर उन्होंने ख़ुद को एक बेहतरीन डांसर के तौर पर भी साबित किया था।

परवीन बाबी (अंग्रेज़ी: Parveen Babi, जन्म: 4 अप्रैल 1949; मृत्यु: 20 जनवरी 2005) हिन्दी फ़िल्मों की एक प्रसिद्ध भारतीय अभिनेत्री थीं। परवीन बाबी का जन्म 4 अप्रैल 1949 को जूनागढ़, गुजरात में हुआ था। परवीन अपने माता-पिता की शादी के चौदह साल बाद पैदा हुई थीं और यह इकलौती संतान थीं। उन्होंने अपने पिता को सात साल की उम्र में ही खो दिया था। परवीन बाबी ने औरंगाबाद में अपनी प्रारम्भिक स्कूली शिक्षा की और उसके बाद सेंट जेवियर्स कॉलेज, अहमदाबाद से शिक्षा ग्रहण की। उनके पिता वली मोहम्मद बाबी, जूनागढ़ के नवाब के साथ प्रशासक थे।परवीन बाबी ग्लैमरस भूमिकाओं के लिए जानी जाती थीं। 1970-80 के दशक में सिल्वर स्क्रीन पर अपनी सुन्दरता का जलवा बिखरने वाली परवीन बाबी की ज़्यादातर फ़िल्में सुपर हिट रहीं हैं।
