In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha unfurled the national flag at the UT-level Republic Day function at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu. He inspected the parade contingents and took the ceremonial salute. Addressing the gathering, the LG said a new dawn has arrived in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting strong measures to eliminate terrorism and provide full support to families affected by terror-related violence. He also announced that all pending cases related to terrorism killings will be re-examined to ensure justice. The LG reaffirmed the government’s commitment to establishing peace and promoting prosperity in the region.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid rich tributes to martyrs and victims of terrorism, natural calamities, and tragic incidents. Saluting the courage and bravery of security forces, he said, Operation Sindoor sent a clear message to the world that terrorism will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He praised the armed forces for eliminating Pakistani terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and paid homage to its victims, as well as those who lost their lives in the unfortunate Nowgam blast.
The LG also acknowledged the suffering caused by recent natural calamities in the region, paying tribute to those who lost their lives. He expressed gratitude to the Security Forces, SDRF, and NDRF for their relentless rescue and relief operations during times of crisis. During the ceremony the march-past featured a disciplined display by smart contingents from Army, BSF, CRPF, SSB, IRP, J&K Police, Armed Police, UT Disaster Response Force, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, J&K Forest Protection Force, Excise & Taxation Department, Ex-Servicemen, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides and several school contingents, Brass & Pipe Bands of Army, BSF, J&K Police and Band Troops of different Schools.
The celebration showcased the developmental and cultural spirit of J&K through a vibrant tableau. Key themes included Operation Sindoor, Mission Yuva, Road Safety, Nasha Mukt J&K, Shram ko Samman, Saral Kar, Sashakt Bharat and Food Safety. The crowd was enthralled by the impressive Motorcycle Acrobatic display by the Dare-Devils of J&K Police and a diverse cultural pageantry representing the UT’s rich heritage. Earlier, the LG visited the Police Martyrs Memorial and Balidan Stambh. He laid wreaths and paid tribute to the bravehearts of the Police, Army, and CAPFs who made the supreme sacrifice in service to the nation.
