Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council approves budget of Rs 255 crore & 26 lakh for FY 2025-26

Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil, has approved a budget of 255 crore and 26 lakh rupees for the financial year 2025-26. The announcement was made during the General Council Meeting chaired by CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon at the Conference Hall in Baroo. The meeting began with a tribute to the late former MP of Ladakh, Haji Mohd Hassan Khan, and to the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

 

CEC Kargil highlighted the achievements of the last fiscal year and praised the efforts of various departments for their effective implementation of developmental works. The Deputy Commissioner of Kargil, Shrikant Suse, was also congratulated for receiving the Excellence Award from the Prime Minister for outstanding expenditure management.

 

Several developmental projects were inaugurated during the session, including road upgrades in Drass, a Stock Assistant Training Institute, an anti-drug addiction centre, and residential and hostel facilities.

 

The Council discussed key issues such as improving healthcare facilities, teacher appointments, tourism promotion, lift irrigation, and winter hostel planning. The CEC also emphasized ecological conservation and urged people to avoid plastic use. The meeting concluded with a collective resolve for better inter-departmental coordination and timely implementation of developmental works.A
