In Kerala, various programmes were organised across the state to mark International Women’s Day. Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje delivered the Women’s Day message during the medical camp organised at Thiruvananthapuram by the city district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha.
In another programme to be organised at Thiruvananthapuram, the Kerala Police will launch the Nirbhaya Nisha initiative to ensure the safety of women travelling at night across the state.
The programme provides rapid police assistance for women between 9 PM and 5 AM through the 112 emergency helpline, Pol-App SOS facility and strengthened night patrols by the Kerala Police. Various seminars, competitions, rallies etc were organised across the state by different organisations today.
