Tribal Affairs Ministry today announced the commencement of the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada starting from tomorrow. The Pakhwada will mark the grand culmination of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh and celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The Ministry said that the Pakhwada will be celebrated across the country through the concerted efforts of Tribal Research Institutes, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India, and the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation. The Pakhwada aims to celebrate the achievements and progress made under key initiatives such as PM JANMAN, Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, National Sickle Cell Elimination Mission, and various livelihood and entrepreneurship programs. The two-week celebration will culminate on 15th of the next month as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, paying homage to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary.
