In Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat has announced the renaming of the Raj Bhavan to “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir”. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the Raj Bhawan building serves as the official residence and office of the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory. An order, signed by Principal Secretary to LG, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, states that the change is effective immediately. Consequently, all references to Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir shall now be referred to as Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir. This notification follows a communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and aligns with the directives issued by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
