Israeli fighter jets struck near the Syrian presidential palace in Damascus early morning. The Israeli military confirmed the operation, stating that it targeted an area adjacent to the Palace of President Hussein al-Sharaa in Damascus, without elaborating on the specific objective. In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the strike was a direct warning to Syrian authorities following sectarian violence involving the Druze community.

 Earlier this week, violent clashes broke out between Druze and Sunni gunmen in Jaramana, a Druze-majority area near the capital. Tensions erupted after an audio recording circulated online insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
