In IPL Cricket, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Chasing the target of 166 runs set by Hyderabad, Kolkata made 169, losing three wickets in 18.2 overs. Winning the toss and opting to bat first hosts Hyderabad were all out for 165 in 19 overs.  

In another match, Punjab Kings were 47 for 5 in 9 overs against the host Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, when reports last came in. The hosts won the toss and opted to ball first. They are currently placed at 5th position, while Kolkata Knight Riders are placed in 8th position.
