Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that India’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions – MICE industry is set to be a major economic driver, and it will generate high-quality jobs. Addressing the Meet in India Conclave in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the Minister asserted that India’s MICE industry is rapidly emerging as a global powerhouse, fuelled by robust economic growth, world-class infrastructure, and strong government backing.
Mr Shekhwat added that with iconic venues including Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi, and Jio World Centre, along with a special focus on MICE, the government aims to elevate at least 10 Indian cities into the world’s top MICE destinations. He also asserted that India is poised to become the world’s most admired tourism and events destination under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
