Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and former Chief Justice of India Justice Bhushan R. Gavai today inaugurated India’s first ‘Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Advocate Training and Research Centre’ (BBATRC) at Taloja in Navi Mumbai. The Centre has been established by the Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Fadnavis said, it a landmark initiative for strengthening the legal profession. He said, the academy would play a crucial role in bridging the divide between legal education and practical courtroom practice. He said the quality and timely completion of the building reflected the work culture of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and paid tribute to him on the occasion.
The event was presided over by Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court Justice Shree Chandrashekhar. Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court Justice Revati Mohite-Dere, Additional Solicitor General of India Anil C. Singh, Maharashtra Advocate General Dr Milind Sathe, and Goa Advocate General Advocate Devidas Pangam were also present.
