Out of seven multi-party delegations carrying the message of India’s principled and resolute stand against terrorism, three delegations have now returned to India after concluding their successful visit to respective countries. During the visit, the delegations engaged with foreign leaders, senior officials, influential think tanks, media, and the Indian diaspora as part of their international outreach.
The delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha returned to India after successfully concluding their visit to Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Talking to the media upon arrival, Mr Jha said that the message to send an all-party delegation was that the whole country is united on the issue of terrorism. He added that the delegation urged action against Pakistan by the Financial Action Task Force.
The Multi-Party Delegation, led by NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, called on the Foreign Affairs Minister of Egypt, Dr Badr Abdelatty and the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit. Addressing a high-level interaction led by former Foreign Minister of Egypt, Nabil Fahmy, the delegation engaged with prominent Egyptian intellectuals, media leaders, and opinion makers. The delegation reiterated India’s principled position and collective resolve to combat terrorism, and welcomed Egypt’s consistent support. During the interaction, Ms Sule said that India has always reached out to its neighbours, but the actions by Pakistan have been a painful experience.
The Parliamentary Delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad is currently on its visit to the European Union headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The interactions at the EU level and with Belgian authorities are focused on the scourge of terrorism, including cross-border terrorism and the recent heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, the all-party delegation led by Congress MP Dr Shashi Tharoor has arrived in Washington DC to meet members of the US Congress and administration, think tanks, media and policymakers to brief them on Operation Sindoor and India’s strong stand against terrorism.
