Director General of the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC), Navin Kumar Singh, today said that India’s digital economy is expected to contribute nearly 20 per cent to the country’s GDP by 2030.

He was addressing the inaugural session of the 7th edition of FICCI’s CyberComm 2026 in New Delhi.

Mr Singh added that India has emerged as the world’s leading country in digital payments and has developed an inclusive and democratic digital public infrastructure model. He highlighted that the country has moved from a cash-based informal economy to a high-productivity digital economy through initiatives such as UPI, optical fibre expansion, digital governance and paperless systems.
